Abstract

The results of numerous ongoing research programs on the genetic basis of autism are not yet available. Several investigations, however, have found that a substantial minority of autistic individuals have macrocephaly, the meaning of which is still ill-understood. Several studies have also reported the beneficial effects of serotonin selective re-uptake inhibitors on behavioural symptoms.
