Abstract

Active microelectronic DNA arrays are presently being used for genomic research and diagnostics. These arrays transport charged DNA molecules to specific microscopic sites. These devices can serve as "host substrates" for self-assembly of complex 2D and 3D structures. This technology is being used to develop a high bit density optical storage material based DNA derivatized chromophore groups.
