Abstract

Gallbladder Cancer: A Comprehensive Guide to Management was planned as a thorough, yet objective text about gallbladder cancer, encompassing from epidemiology and pathogenesis to the present cutting edge technology and ongoing research. This work provides a comprehensive review of a worldwide scope disease as a collaboration of renowned researchers from different continents, including the latest discussions of crucial topics on gallbladder cancer management. The epidemiology content covers epidemiologic data, trends over time, risk factors, incidence and cancer specific mortality rates. Chapters describe the intrinsic molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis associated with the pathogenetic mechanisms, genomics, proteomics and transcriptomics. Regarding prevention, prophylactic measures and preventive use of drugs is presented.
