Abstract

Using3H-prazosin, we have examined the distribution of α1-adrenergic receptors in the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei of the human hypothalamus. Our studies show that binding sites for3H-prazosin in human hypothalamus possess pharmacological characteristics similar to those of rat brain. Autoradiographic studies revealed discrete localization of3H-prazosin to the paraventricular and supraoptic nuclei.
