Abstract

Lysis-centrifugation and lysis-filtration techniques represent new and innovative approaches for culturing of blood. Both are more sensitive than conventional techniques and each has inherent advantages and disadvantages. The selection of methodology for each laboratory depends on a number of factors which can make the choice very difficult.
