Abstract
Tetralogy of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve is a form of cyanotic heart disease that can cause severe respiratory distress soon after birth.1-3 Proper management of the disease is closely linked to its early recognition. Ideally, prenatal diagnosis4-6 should allow planning of delivery in medical centers equipped to provide prompt medical and surgical care to these potentially critically ill newborn infants. Recently, 2 fetuses with this syndrome were encountered in the Consultative Fetal Echocardiographic Clinic of the University of California Medical Center at San Diego.
