Abstract

Psoriasis is a multisystem inflammatory disease which affects the skin with a prevalence of 1–2 % in the United States and Europe, but it is virtually absent in Africa and only 0.1 % in Asia. Males and females are affected equally by the skin disease, which has a mean age of onset of 30 years with the range being anytime from infancy to old age.
