Abstract
The pain associated with subacute thyroiditis is frequently referred to the mandible, the temporomandibular joint, and the ears. Occasionally this discomfort in the facial region is predominant and must be differentiated from other causes of facial pain. An illustrative case report is presented and an approach to the patient with facial pain is discussed.
