Abstract

Cerebellum slices from rat brain were incubated in a medium containing (³⁵S) sulphate. The incorporation of (³⁵S) into sulphatide was measured. The tissue slices were dhown to incorporate (:⁵S) even after 44hr of incubation. The maximal incorporation was observed when cerebellum from 12 to 15 day old rats was used. An equimolar inhibitory effect on the (³⁵S) uptake into sulphatide was induced by 25 μM methylmercury chloride and by 2.5 μM triethyllead chloride.
