Abstract
Cancer-associated fibroblasts conduct an aberrant wound-healing response, including mechanisms that restrain and others that support tumor progression. In this issue of Cancer Discovery, Francescone and colleagues demonstrate expression of presynaptic protein NetG1 on fibroblasts in pancreatic ductal adenocar-cinoma and characterize tumor-supportive functions of NetG1 in this context, including metabolic and immune-modulatory mechanisms.
