Abstract

It has been shown that blood transfusions improve graft survival when given prior to cadaveric donor and one-haplotype-matched living related donor renal transplantation. We have found that third-party blood transfusions also have a significant beneficial effect in recipients of HLA-identical sibling kidney transplants.
