Abstract

Sulfate aerosol has been continuously monitored by sampling a laboratory generated aerosol with a commercially available ″sulfur gas″ flame photometer. Efficiencies of detection were high. The temperature dependent decomposition of the different sulfate species has been shown to be a potentially powerful tool in the molecular identification of the various sulfates.
