Abstract

In the present survey of 309 US radiation oncologists on how they treat limited-stage small-cell lung cancer, 64% of the respondents did not recommend elective nodal irradiation (ENI). Physicians earlier in their careers and those practicing in academic centers were less likely than their counterparts to recommend ENI. When delivering ENI, 64% prescribed a lower dose to the elective lymph nodes than to the involved lymph nodes.
