Abstract

Mohs micrographic surgery is a technique that enables complete evaluation of the surgical margin in cutaneous tumors. This specialized technique was developed for tumors of the head and neck and is exceptionally important in the treatment of periocular tumors. The most common indications for periocular Mohs surgery include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, sebaceous carcinoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, and other skin malignancies where tissue preservation and clear surgical margins are paramount.
