Abstract

Head and neck cancer therapies often require multidisciplinary approaches. The cutting edge of treatment algorithms involve the intersection of surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapies, and next-generation targeted therapies. As we develop new techniques, new applications for old technologies, and novel treatment approaches, treatments continue to evolve. We discuss several of these modalities, including primary surgery for oropharynx squamous cell carcinoma, the management of oligometastatic disease, evolving combination algorithms using immunotherapies, organ preservation techniques in advanced oral cavity cancer, and emerging uses for induction chemotherapy.
